•    Listed below are the WLMA Scholarships.  Carefully read the criteria for each scholarship by clicking on the hyperlink and then check the scholarships for which you are applying on the list below.
•    Complete the following information requests. All applications, letters of recommendation, headshots, and official transcripts must be postmarked between February 1 and April 15.

Create a resume that includes the following information.  It should be no more than two pages. Contact information Objective Educational background including all dates and locations Work experience including your work in schools, libraries, all dates and locations. Volunteer experience including any positions you have held in WLMA including all dates and locations. Special interests References:  You will need two recommendations.  One must be from your superintendent, principal, a teacher or your employer.  The second recommendation must be from a librarian.  Please list those two people, their position, and their contact information.  Ask those two people to write you a letter of recommendation and send it to: Mary Letterman 4040 Fawcett Avenue Tacoma, WA 98418 .

Answer the following questions in a word-processed document.  It should be no more than two pages. Employment as a teacher librarian:  currently or are you applying?  Please elaborate and state your goal. Reasons for applying:  Describe yourself and your goal as a teacher librarian.  What are your plans for the future?  Include your interest in librarianship, plans for further education and your interest in these awards.  Include personal and professional activities.  If applying for the Laura Hahn, Eleanor Ahlers, or Sharon Bates Awards, give additional personal information not given in responding to the specialized application form. Describe your financial need for the scholarship including when and where you would use this scholarship. At the end sign and date this document

Request official transcripts to be sent to: Mary Letterman 4040 Fawcett Avenue Tacoma, WA 98418 .  Check with the institution to insure they have been sent promptly before contacting the Scholarship Committee.  These transcripts will be returned to you after the selection of the awards has been made.

Please include a headshot of yourself, preferably sent digitally to scholarships@wlma.org.  This is the only part of the application that may be submitted digitally.  With your headshot include a second copy of the Scholarship Information List and your Personal Information Forms.   All applications, letters of recommendation, headshots, and official transcripts must be postmarked between February 1 and April 15.
