Membership in WLMA

Members of WLMA receive these benefits:

• Improved professional knowledge

• Contacts and collaboration with colleagues from around the state

• A subscription to WLMA's professional journal The MEDIUM

• Membership in the WLMA listserv

• A portion of the membership fee supports region activities and meetings

Membership year is October to October. Members who join after June receive membership through the following October. Each region receives part of your state dues ($7.50) to conduct meetings in your region.  Online Membership is temporarily disabled.  Please use the membership form and mail to the address on the form.

WLMA's Free Student Membership Scholarship Guidelines

• The goal of this project is to develop leadership and involvement in the school library profession.

• A maximum of one hundred free WLMA student memberships will be provided for the school year.

• To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in and attending a library or related program of study at a college or university.

• WLMA membership forms can be obtained from Membership Chair, Pat McKinley, pamckinley@aol.com or 34525 S. Wood Rd., Cheney, WA 99004. A form can also be downloaded from the membership form link on this webpage.

• A college instructor must sign, date, and note the name of the institution on the WLMA membership form.

• Membership forms will be returned to applicants if one hundred have already been awarded, if the membership form is incomplete, or if the candidate is ineligible.

• Students are encouraged to attend a WLMA regional meeting or the WLMA Fall Conference.

• The WLMA Executive Committee will periodically review this pilot project for sustainability.

• Questions, comments and concerns can be addressed to the current WLMA president .

Emeritus Members

The status of Emeritus Member is awarded to a member upon retirement from active employment and for distinguished service to the Association. The member must be nominated by the region, recommended by the Membership Committee, and confirmed by the Executive Committee. Emeritus memberships are awarded during the Annual Conference.
