How to vote for the Sasquatch Award:
1. Read!
- Students will read, or have read to them, at least two titles in order to vote.
2. Have students vote, then tally the results for your library.
The results will be posted on the WLMA web page and listserv in early April.
3. Publicize the Award in your school.
- Sasquatch stickers and posters may be ordered from our Sasquatch page on the WLMA/WALE Conference Wiki.
- Posters will be given away free at the fall conference.
- Bookmarks - Please visit our Sasquatch page on the WLMA/WALE Conference Wiki for bookmark downloads.
How to nominate titles for the 2013 list:
- Nominations may be made by students, teachers, or librarians.
- Nominations for the 2013 list must have a 2009 or 2010 copyright.
- Nomination deadline for the 2013 list is January 15, 2012.
- An annual list of books representing the reading/interest level of the intermediate reader will be nominated. This list may include non-fiction and fiction.
- The nominating committee will include a statewide representation of librarians who will seek and use input from young readers in developing the annual ballot list.
- Early nominations will be discussed at the WLMA conference in October 2011. Final ballot suggestions must be submitted to the committee by January 15, 2012.
