Our Summit (Read – Connect – Think – Grow: Why School Libraries Matter--Washington School Library Media Program Summit) was a dynamic day.

  • Morning session: 9:30 a.m-11:45a.m. -- Vision and Action

  • Rally for Senate Bill #6380 on the Capitol Steps: 12:00 noon - more information

  • Afternoon session: 1:00-5:00 p.m. -- collaborative time among K-12 educators. parents, legislators and other key stakeholders, including a reception to meet and greet invited legislators




WLMA Region Chairs and Board Members were invited and encouraged to attend the Summit. WLMA reimburses one chair from each region attending for substitute teachers, mileage, and one overnight (double occupancy), if needed. Let your district know that WLMA will be paying for your sub, and we will reimburse after the Summit.


The Summit is sponsored by WLMA in collaboration with the Washington Coalition for School Libraries and Information Technology.
